‘Bruno’s’ mysterious tentacles
Following on from the “SQUID BODY FROM WHALE STOMACH” post, and Clem’s response, there are some intriguing photos that Steve has posted in the tonmo Azores thread. Is this the result of a whale vomit? If so, I can certainly sympathise with the whale.
I assume this is Bruno with his mysterious tentacles. Is it a Asperoteuthis, as has been suggested?

If the squid was puked up by a spooked whale, ’twas surely Bruno’s speedo that spooked him.
I don’t really buy the notion that sperm whales are habitual pukers. They need all the food they can swallow to maintain that mass and metabolism. As for the ID of Bruno’s squid, we’re all just guessing. If you all have any notions, then by all means, chime in.
Cheers,
Clem

Oh, hi there. I’d forgotten all about that night. Still working the dockside bars?
